Port of Corpus Christi, TX Awarded ISO 14001 Registration by NQA
Corpus Christi, TX – July 23, 2007 – National Quality Assurance, USA, Inc. (NQA, USA), a leading provider of quality and environmental management registration services for industries, including aerospace, defense, telecommunications, automotive, and information technology, is pleased to announce the award of ISO 14001:2004 registration to the Port of Corpus Christi, TX, the 6th largest port in the United States and is the second port in the U.S. to achieve certification. Greg Brubeck, Deputy Director of Engineering, stated “the involvement of all hands in this program will help the Port comply with all environmental regulations, prevent pollution from our operations, and facilitate continual environmental improvement in the years to come, all of which will foster a better quality of life for the current and future residents and tourists of the Coastal Bend’s unique natural resources”.
Larry Tibert, Environmental Health and Safety Business Unit Manager for NQA, stated “NQA was pleased to have been selected as the registrar the Port Authority chose to certify their environmental management system. NQA is honored to have the Port of Corpus Christi join the family of NQA registered clients and looks forward to continuing to ensure that the Port’s environmental management system flourishes through our surveillance activities”.
In honor of this achievement NQA has been asked to be part of the presentation ceremony to the Port Commission planned for August 14th.
